Plas Uchaf Cottage
Plas Uchaf - a secluded hideaway approached by country lanes is a veritable rural paradise, perched on a hillside, enjoying panoramic coastal views as far reaching as the spectacular Snowdonia and flanked by Welsh countryside adorned with wildlife. Hares are commonplace here, along with the neighbouring estates' pheasants and partridge.
There is direct access to the breathtaking Anglesey Coastal Footpath from the cottages which is teeming with sea birds - puffins and curlews nest regularly here, dolphins and seals are often spotted on their home on Dulas Island.
For a day on the beach, Lligwy boasts miles of sandy paradise, stunning scenery and great action for keen crabbers and sandcastle building. Kayaks and canoes are readily available to hire along with mountain bikes from the Beach Shop. Traeth Bychan (a 10 minute drive), which nestles in a sheltered cove and is a watersports haven. It has a superb Sailing Club and is very popular with water skiing enthusiasts and boasts a perfect beach for boat launching.
For the golfing enthusiasts Bull Bay offers a fantastic 18 hole course, with outstanding coastal views, and is suitable for all abilities. For those who prefer the gym, Tre-Ysgawen Spa Hotel (a 10 minute drive) offers spa days with full use of gym and pool.
Beaumaris is a fun day out for all. The harbour offers boat trips to explore the local coastlines, and a visit to their historic castle takes you back in time. For a fine dining experience The Bull is a must and The Neptune takes fish and chips to a new level.... a must for every trip.
